The Christian-Democrats are watching closely the legal cases against persons detained on May 26. The CDM, taking in view an interest of public in this case regularly supplies with the information the Western partners. They are supposing that the Court freedom low quality may affect badly the outcome of these legal cases.
According to the information disseminated by the political the decision of May 28 in Batumi City Court raises many questions. As a result of the Court trial defense lawyer Ramin Papidze faced 10 days administrative imprisonment.
"The defense lawyer who served to the detained protest action participant on May 26, himself appeared in a jail. We believe that the public will be informed in details concerning this case and all other questions which are very sensitive and touching the politic l activity of people and its defend e lawyers, " - the Christian-Democrats' statement reads.
The CDM will continue the monitoring of this case together with Georgian Defense Lawyers Association. The CDM calls the government, beating in mind the interest of international community in this case to lift pressure over this case and to give the possibility to the defense lawyers of detained public protest participants to perform its duties without hindering.
