The defense lawyer's Association holds a protest action in front of the EU Representative Office in Tbilisi. The protest action participants called the members of organization to take some steps in connection with the detained defense lawyers.
"The international organization should demand from the Georgian government to fulfill obligations under the Art 6 of ECHR, party of which Georgia is. This should be implemented towards all prisoners, defense lawyers and all people who are in some way connected with the Court, "- Zaza Khatiashvili said.
He noted that the Human Rights Commissioner Thomas Hammerberg proved that in Gerogia the defense lawyers are persecuted institutionally. Nevertheless Saakshvili's government is not answerable in this question up to today.
The protest action participants passed to EC representative the list of detained defense lawyers and asked for the steps in one month period.
