The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expresses its deep grief over the tragic loss of U.S. and Afghan servicemen as a result of an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) helicopter crash which took place in eastern Afghanistan on 6 August 2011.
The tragic death of the servicemen bears witness to the extent of the sacrifice of the international community - and the United States in particular - in pursuit of the establishment of peace and stability in Afghanistan. The dedication and contribution of these men to the strengthening of international security is immeasurable.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia conveys its condolences to the families of the victims of the crash and to the U.S. and Afghan Governments.
