The government is afraid of Timoshenko, and all court trial indicates that it is very politically inclined, The MP of Ukraine Sergey Pashinsky, member of political party "All Ukraine Union" said in his exclusive interview with GHN.
He said the international reaction to the events which are happening in Ukraine concerning the Court trial of Yulia Timoshenko is astonishingly simultaneous, instant and unilateral. The same happens in Ukraine. It is very sad that there is not a protest action in front of the Court, but I believe that they inevitably will come here to support Timoshenko.
The government is afraid of the opposition leader up to the tremor in knees. I am informing you officially that here yesterday were on duty 2700 employees of militia special division "Berkut". Even during the Orange revolution there were not so much forces at one place.
The Judge has no right to impose such restrictive measure as an arrest to Yulia Timoshenko only for the "treats". This indicates that the authorities will make such criminal steps including the verdict. It is clear tat they wish to accomplish the case as soon as possible, as the court hearings are everyday.
I would like to pay attention to the point that the equality of arms at the court trial is not balanced. Only 2 our witnesses were questioned and the accusation questions all 37 witnesses. Notwithstanding this, the accusation party's witnesses 35 out of 37 gave evidence in favor of Timoshenko.
The court trial explicitly is politically biased. There is no definition in the crime of Timoshenko. The Judge said the crime is in her attempt to increase her popularity to raise the rating before elections. The loss they named as a difference in the gas prices. Any abuse of power should indicate the profit, but in the accusation statement there is not shown that Timoshenko has any profit. The statement contravenes to itself and says that Timoshenko was profiting form getting the popularity. This indicates the politically inclined nature of the court trial.
