In connection with the detention in Spain of Bidzina Giorgobiani, The Conservative Party's international secretary and the former Forest department head, Lasha Chkhartishvili, one of the leaders of the Conservative Party said that if Giorgobiani will be extradited to Georgia he will be put under the pressure. The political persecution against him is carried out by the Saakashvili's regime. His life in the Georgian prison will be under the real danger.

"Bidzina Giorgobiani was detained this year on August 8, I the Spanish town Manakor while being with his family and little children. The ground was that he was searched over the Interpol under the unlawful demand of Georgian government. This was unlawful because for that moment he was already a German citizen but not Georgian one. To be noted that alongside with Giorgobiani no other persons were detained, "- Chkhartishvili said.

He said that the persecution against him is absolutely groundless and the court judgment delivered in 2008 was unlawful. This is a revenge of Vano Merabishvili, MIA head against him.
"The reason is t hat in 2004-2005 yy when he was a head of the Forest Department he was actively resisting to the illegal actions of MIA minister and as well against the Constitutional Security department head Data Akhalaia. These actions where connected with the forgery of forest documents together with the Kokoity regime, "- Chkhartishvili said.
