Georgia conducts negotiations for getting into the cruise routs of several companies. The Tourism Agency head Maya Sidamonidze said to GHN for these 5 years are necessary.
"In fact such routs are prepared by the cruise companies 5 years before. We started to work actively with these companies and we are trying to get in touch with them during while different exhibitions are conducted to introduce them with the possibilities in Georgia," - head of the Tourism Agency said to GHN.
Maya Sidamonidze said this time Georgia is included only in those cruise routs which are operating in the Black sea countries. "We are interested to broaden this area and to get into the routs of those companies which are bolder, "- Sidamonidze said.
To be noted, this year to Georgia less cruise ships will enter Georgia than it was last year. During 20111 in Ajara 8 cruise ships are expected to enter, out of them 5 cruise ships already entered the Ajara coast. One of them will enter Ajar in September.
For information in March the Ajara government official delegation attended USA for attending the infrastructure exhibition "SEATRADE MIAMI -2011".
The Ajara government head conducted meetings with Hose Campo, Secretary General of the Medcruise and Knit Oner, President of Tura Tourism. The bilateral cooperation questions were discussed at the meeting with Miami Tourism Company. The Ajara government as well met with Jon Tersek, Vice President of Royal Caribbean Cruses and Semion Douve, Director of the "Holland America Line" and other tourist companies in Ukraine.
