Nestan Kirtadze, International Secretary of the Labor Party said in connection with the health condition of Giorgi Demetradze, former footballer that the Labor Party prepares a document for describing the health condition of Demetradze, the information which was published in Georgian media. This document will be sent to all international organizations and embassies, not only in Georgia but as well abroad.
"Over the press and media very alarming information is disseminated concerning the health condition of former footballer Giorgi Demoetradze. This fact is an outrageous one. His health condition is do bad that the life might be under the danger. And all this is about the former footballer, now imprisoned. This cannot be left without attention from his fans, close relatives, young people and moreover politicians, "- Kirtadze said.
Kirtadze noted this case is very notable on the background when all monitoring groups in Georgia are studying the condition of prisoners. Notwithstanding this such alarming information is disseminated over the press.
"For example, last year it was noted that 180 prisoners died in the penitential system. For these year they reported 40 death cases in Georgian prisons, "- Kirtadze said.
She noted that she informed today envoys and international organizations representatives privately the situation with Giorgi Demetradze.
She said this is a prevention which must be performed in this respect.
For information, the card was blocked for Giorgi Demetradze who is imprisoned in Rustavi prison. He cannot purchase any food and "now he weights 20 kg" the newspaper "Alia" informs.
