The Georgian Labor Party applied with the urgent statement to foreign embassies and to CoE High Commissioner for Refugees Thomas Hammerberg concerning the case of Georgian footballer who is imprisoned, GHN reports. Nestan Kirtadze, International Secretary of the Georgian Labor Party made public the statement of the party at the special briefing.
She noted that Giorgi Demoetradze who is imprisoned in Rustavi prison No 6, is under the sever physical and physiological pressure and at the edge of suicide. "The information is disseminated that his card is blocked and he cannot purchase necessary goods in the prison," - Kirtadze said.
She said the footballer suffers from famine is very feeble and cannot go out for the walk in the prison.
"We are applying to the embassies, to international organizations, to Commissioner for Human Rights, for speedy monitoring of the fact. The life of a prisoner is under the danger, "- Kirtadze said.
