Justice Ministry disseminated information concerning the case heard in ECtHR on Sandro Grgvliani.
"In 2011 July 26 the decision of the ECtHR entered into force on the case "Enuqidze and Girgvliani v. Georgia". The Court held Georgian government was in breach of Article 2 of the Convention and Article 38 procedural breach.
The Court denied the applicant's claim concerning violation of Article 2 (Right to Life). As well the Court denied the pretensions of the applicant concerning the Article 3 (Torture); Article 6 (Right to Fair trial) and Artic le 13 (Right to the effective investigation).
According to the statement the government will provide the pay off the damages imposed by the European Court within 3 month period before October 26 of 2011 and will inform about this to the Cabinet which supervises the process of implementation.
"Under the Article 41 the ECtHR imposed damages to be paid by Georgian government in amount of EUR 50 000 and EUR 388 for Court expenses."
