Eka Beselia, leader of civil movement solidarity for prisoners of conscience said the prison administration in the Qsani No 15 prison ordered to beat 4 prisoners to the handicapped condition. Beselia informs prisoners say in this crime Levan Lejava, head of the prison, Bacho Rukhaia and deputy director are guilty.
Beselia said today at a briefing that yesterday she got an application from 4 prisoners: Nugzar Khmaladze, Ilia Chichikashvili, Mindia Mindiashvili and Imeda Dvalishvili.
"In September 8 of 2011 the civil movement "Solidarity for Illegal Prisoners" got a statement from Qsani No 15 prison. Four prisoners signed it. They tell that on September 3 in the Qsani prison 15-20 administration representatives severely beat prisoners without having any ground for such action. They were beaten with plastic batons. As a result several prisoners were injured gravely. The prisoners demand to carry out the forensics and to react immediately. They named some public officials guilty in this crime, "- the declaration of the civil movement noted.
Beselia informs that prisoners were so rudely beaten that all of them were unconsciously. Ilia Chichikashvili has his ribs broken and head injured. He got a cerebral concussion. Despite he has problems with health condition previously, this fact was disregarded by the prison administration. They intentionally beat him to the hips were he undergo a surgery.
The similar case happens with Imeda Dvalishvilii.
The administration threatened prisoners in case of revealing this fact, its family members will be imprisoned. As well prisoners will be given additional 10-15 years to its sentence. Prisoners were systematically under the threat.
