Temur Iakobashvili, Georgian envoy to USA said that Washington puts no pressure over Georgia for Russian Federation's affiliation to WTO.
"The USA position is very simple; USA upholds the affiliation of Russian Federation to WTO, as this way is more civilized way for trade relations. At the same time this does not mean that Russian Federation definitely will became a member of WTO. USA has two clear positions. The first - if Russia wishes the membership it should negotiate with Georgia; and USA is not about to make concessions in this respect. The second is that USA upholds WTO's consensus principle, "- Iakobashvili aid.
By the way, Georgian envoy doubts if Russian Federation wishes to be a member of WTO at all. "In Russian government people are who are not willing to become WTO member."
