Georgia and EU will start negotiations on the free trade agreement, Salome Samadashvili, Georgian envoy to EU said, GHN reports.
"This will be a very important step. I think that till the end of this year we will hold negotiations for free trade agreement with EU. Next year our goal will be to start a dialogue about the visa free regime with EU. This is a main direction in our work, I think we will have a breakthrough in this respect, "- Samadashvili said being at the Ambassadorial in Tbilisi.
She underlined that Georgia has a progress for the last years in respect of relations with EU.
"Negotiations about associative membership are pending very actively. This is a highest level of political relations, which might be suggested by EU to the non member states. We have a strategic partnership with EU, "- she said.
