Famous Georgian poet and writer and one of the most popular residents of Tbilisi Gizo Nishnianidze died at the age of 83, arguably, with a sudden heart attack. The writer visited his relatives in Sachkhere town, Imereti Region, and reading his poem, when he suddenly fell down.
Tbilisi city hall`s culture department opened his star outside the Tbilisi Grand Concert Hall and held a modern version of one of the most popular concert-shows of the 80-ies Dating on Vera a year ago. And the star of the writer was inscribed - Gizo Nishnianidze - Date on Vera.
In 2003, Gizo Nishnianidze was granted the title of the honorary resident of Tbilisi.
