Angela Merkel, German Chancellor is against the full membership of Turkey in the European Union, GHN reports. She declared this at the regional conference of the Christian-Democratic Union.
She declared this before her forthcoming meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gule, who arrived with official visit to Germany.
At the same time she noted that they wish to keep Turkey as an important partner. She believes that EU has to find ways to establish closer ties with Ankara.
Nevertheless Turkish President wishes Turkey "to be a part of EU and share responsibility for global affairs." His speech was postponed because of the anonymous notification to the Police about explosive substance in the building of University. Nevertheless no such substance was found.
