Regional security issues, situation in Georgia's occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and the Georgia-USA relations were discussed by the chairperson of Georgian Parliament Davit Bakradze and USA Senators within his official visit to the United States. Bakradze discussed these questions with John McCain, Roy Blunt and Mark Begich.
"Our interests area is a tourism, NATO questions, current cooperation in economics and our negative disposition to the situation on the Georgia's occupied territories, " - Senator John McCain.
"We have developed some ideas in connection with the establishment of armed forces use. We will conduct some military trainings as well. It is very important that alongside with USA soldiers Georgian ones are fighting in the from line in Afghanistan for keeping the democracy in the region, "- Mark Begich said after the meeting.
Bakradze will hold more meetings in Washington. He will discuss cooperation issues with the Congressional representatives and US administration authorities. Meeting with the US Undersecretary of State, Mr. William Burns is also on the agenda. Bakradze is also expected to deliver speech at the Marshal Foundation.
On Friday, Georgian senior lawmakers will leave for Boston and deliver a report about the reforms carried out in Georgia in recent years at the Kennedy School of the Harvard University.
