Russian Patriarch Kiril declared that the demolition of the USSR was a breakdown of Russia, GHN reports.
"This year we are commemorating the 20 years since the demolition of USSR. In this respect I prefer to say this was a breakdown of historic Russia, "- Russian Patriarch said at Friday at the joint sitting of Church Councils, taking the floor after speech of Boris Grislov, State Duma Spokesman.
He discussed the reasons of USSR demolition. One of the reasons, he said, is a fail of national self conscience, national pride and perception of the history as a one whole unity. The historic communion of the people was very important for its material and spiritual wellbeing, he believes.
At the ewe of Parliamentary elections he called Russian public to care after national self conscience, national dignity to prevent such tragic events which were at the beginning of 90s.
"At the beginning of 90s people were unsatisfied with improper governance, improper ideology, and this driven them to demolition of statehood. They were targeting against the regime, but destroyed the historic Russia, "- Patriarch Kiril.
