On November 16 Catherine Ashton will arrive to Tbilisi.
Catherin Ashton, EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy; vice President of European Commission starts a Caucasian tourney. She will visit firstly Azerbaijan (November 15), then Georgia (November 16) and Armenia (November 17). To the point, he visited Georgia last year, when arriving to Batumi she met with Presidnet Saakashvili.
Nino Kalandzdze, Deputy Foreign Minister said at the today's briefing that Ashton will meet with President Saakashvili and as well with Foreign Minister.
"Her visit is planned in the regional tourney frames. A range of meetings at the high level are planned with her. The last time she visited Georgia in June of 2010. In the frames of that visit President Saakashvili and Catherine Ashton opened officially the Georgian-EU negotiations on Georgia's associative membership agreement in EU. Negotiations in this frame are very active. Several rounds of negotiations were held already and we hope that they will be successfully accomplished, "- Kalandzdze said.
She underlined that such high rank visit proves that the EU has a special interest in connection with Georgian republic and this interest still is up to date
