Bidzina Ivanishvili, businessmen-turned-politician said he suggested to newly appointed President Saakashvili USD 1 bn for development of agriculture. Ivanishvili said at his meeting with regional media, he intends to start reforms in the agriculture.
"I am grown up in a village and I know well how hard is a farmers life and labor. At the time of USSR in Georgia were poor and rich villages, but now all of them are equally in a very hard situation. In 2004 I suggested to president USD 1bn, this was intended for the agrarian sector development. First of all I will start reforms in agriculture, "- Ivanishvili said.
