U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus will hold a series of meetings with senior government and military officials in Tbilisi on November 18th and 19th to discuss bi-lateral and security matters.
The Secretary of the Navy conducts all affairs for the Department of the Navy (DON). This involves implementing policies and programs for the two uniformed services that make up DON, Navy and Marine Corps, to support the national security objectives established by U.S. President Barack Obama or U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
Prior to becoming Secretary of the Navy, Mabus served in a variety of top posts in government and the private sector to include Governor of Mississippi, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and CEO of a major manufacturing company.
