Today, on December 4 (21 November) one of the important Orthodox Church's dates is celebrated. Most likely this date is marked by The Church since VII century, and VIII in Constantinople. In the western countries it was marked for the first time in Avignon, in 1374.
The apocryphal Jacob's gospel tells, the child when reached a three years old age, was delivered to the Temple. As, Yoakim called all virgins in Israel to the temple to come with the lighted candles. "And let's the Child will not turn back and no detachment of her spirit will happen from the God's Home."
When St. Mary alongside with her parents entered the Temple, Yoakim, bishop kissed her and said: "Mary! God gives a prominence to yours name for all generations. And at the end of the days God will show over you, the expiation for Israeli people." He put her on the third footstep of the altar and God favored a mercy over her. She was joyful and danced. Parents were astonished that she did not turned to them and thanked God. St. Mary was fostered in the Temple and was feed by Angels.
