"Iran has no such political plans to recognize the independence of occupied regions. This is despite of the condemning by the official Teheran of Georgian aggression and declaration of its readiness to finance the rehabilitation of Abkhazia and S.Ossetia, " - Seid Makhmudrez, Envoy of the Islamic republic in Russian Federation declared this while visiting the Russian radio "Echo Moskvi" - "Echo of Moscow".
Diplomat explained such decision for the reasons of not to make a precedent for the other secessionist regions.
"Iran did not recognize as well the independence of Kosovo, " - Seid Makhmudrez said.
