Concerning the negotiations for the WTO entry, Russian delegation's head in Switzerland Maxim Medvedkov said factually Georgia did recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He said this in his interview with the Russian program "Summary" (Itogi).
He said that in fact Georgia recognized its trade relations with Abkhazia and S.O. as an export - import, but not as an internal trade.
"We take an obligation to supply with the information the WTO about our trade relations with these two independent countries. At the same time the same obligations were taken by Georgian party. From now on at the borders with Abkhazia and South Ossetia Georgia should open the customs check points. This factually is recognition of an independence of Abkhaz and South Ossetia in terms of international trade relations, "- Medvedkov said.
For information, from the other side President Saakashvili considers the Russia's WTO entry as a diplomatic success.
