Today on December 21 Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili will turn 44, GHN reports.
His political activity started in 1995. In 1992 he graduated from Inter national Law Faculty at the Kiev State Institute of International relations. Later he was awarded for study in Columbia University (LLM). Moreover he continued research studies at the George Washington University and in Strasbourg Institute of Human Rights, as well in Florence in the Academy of European Law and in Hague Academy of International Law.
In 1995 his friend Zurab Jzvani invited him to Georgia for starting a political activity. He became MP from the political party Citizens Union, which supported the president Eduard Shevardnadze.
From January 2000 he was a representative of Georgia in PACE. In October of the same year he became a Justice Minister.
After the 2003 November ‘Rose Revolution' became a President elected on January 4 of 2004. 96, 27% of electorate supported him.
