The Public Gathering expressed its thankfulness to Public Defender for the work done in connection with events on May 26 of 2011, when members of Public Gathering were detained.
Public Defender in his report underlined that defense lawyers were deprived of its right to meet with detained persons; they were unable to use legal right in the expiration 48-hour time limit after detention in administrative detention case. Family members of detained persons were unable to detect its whereabouts.
The statement of Public Gathering as well underlines one more point in the Defender's report - against the peaceful protesters the punishing operation for showing was used by government having no real connection with the real situation.
The Public Gathering addresses to the international community to the dip.corp. In Georgia and asks for the fair investigation of happening.
Public Defender indicated that the defense rights of detained persons were in breach.
