Georgian President's Press spokeswomen Manana Manjgaladze said the 2011 was very important in terms of international relations. The NATO-Georgian relations moved to its new regime.
"In this respect very important was the visit of NATO Secretary General to Georgia and those estimations which he made in respect of our development. To be stressed the NATO Commission sitting and the opinions that Georgia now is closer to the NATO membership than in previous years. He said that the cooperation in ISAF continues. I would like to underline the relations which are established with EU, the visa regime simplification and deep and all-inclusive trade negotiations starting, "- Manjgaladze said.
She as well said that the visit of Nikola Sarkozy and his speech delivered was a historic event. The EU resolution was as well very important which touches the Georgia-EU relations. In 2011 as well the negotiations started for the first time for the EU affiliation. The resolution under which the South Ossetia and Abkhazia were recognized as occupied territories was as well very important. A range of countries opened a series of recognition of the occupation of these territories. In this respect the US Senate resolution was important and the estimations made by Polish Prime Minister. Moreover Georgia continues the partnership with EU in the frames of Eastern Partnership Program.
She stressed that the relations with neighbor countries Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey deepened even more.
