Five people were killed on Thursday during a bank robbery in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, a police spokeswoman said.
At about 3:15 p.m. local time police were alerted to a robbery in progress at a downtown branch of PrivatBank that caters to VIP clients, RIA-Novosti news agency reports.
"Five people were killed," the spokeswoman said, adding that more details would be reported later. It is the second deadly bank robbery in Ukraine this month.
On December 12 two masked men robbed a branch of Credit Agricole leaving one man dead and two injured. The robbers made off with a total of about $180,000 in various currencies.
