Central Election Commission of Georgia is prepared for the upcoming elections - the chairperson of the commission, Zurab Kharatishvili held a press conference at the Prime Time Press Club today and reported the work of the commission for the October parliamentary elections. He said the commission has the strategy for successful, transparent and fair conduct of the elections.
`The election administration started preparation works for the next elections right after the previous elections were over. We have our strategic plan. Currently, the CEC has all required resources including human, financial and time to conduct parliamentary election and the elections of the Adjara Supreme Government in the required deadlines determined by the Constitution,` CEC Chairperson Zurab Kharatishvili told journalists.
The CEC head also commented on a new regulations determined by the amended law on Political Unions, according to which the authority to monitor the financial incomes and expenditures of political parties has been handed over to the Chamber of Control. Kharatishvili said this kind of monitoring was based on principle of fairness.
