The Chamber of Control has sent the list of the rules for monitoring of financial activities to all political parties and organizations in Georgia.
The letter includes the principles and the deadlines, in which the monitoring will be carried out and the information should be submitted to the Department of Fiscal Monitoring of Political Parties of the Chamber of Control of Georgia. The similar letter will be sent to the public movement founded by Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili.
The head of the department, Natia Modeladze has defined that the requests will be sent not only to political parties, but to those legal and physical entities, which are directly or indirectly tied with politics or political organizations and have declared their political intentions.
`Georgian Dream will also receive the similar letter, considering not only our evaluation of their political status, but their declaration, which says that they have political intentions. We`ll determine reasonable deadlines for the political parties, within which they will be obliged to provide us detailed information about financial activities,` Natia Modeladze said.
The representatives of the Georgian Dream Movement say they have not been informed about such letter, but they are prepared to cooperate with the Chamber of Control in any issue in the frames of law. The leaders of the Free Democrats and the People`s Party, Irakli Alasania and Koba Davitashvili have the similar position and are prepared to submit required information to the Chamber of Control.
The Chamber of Control of Georgia has been granted the authority to monitor financial incomes and expenditures of political organizations after corresponding amendments were made to the Law on Political Unions. The amendments were adopted by the parliament last December.
