Georgian governmental delegation is in Kenya waiting for the arrival of a secured vessel that is taking released fifteen Georgian and three Turk sailors from Somali after 508-day captivity of pirates.
Georgian government took a responsibility on the release of the crew of the vessel OLIG after its Greek owner refused to negotiate with pirates from the very beginning as it was captured. The process of negotiations was supervised by Georgian president personally. The interdepartmental group of the government of Georgia, which conducted the negotiations, was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Sustainable Development and Economics Giorgi Karbelashvili.
Georgian president had a telephone conversation with the released sailors yesterday congratulating on the end of the captivity.
