Heavy snowfall hit many resorts in Europe at the end of last week and over the weekend, which had a notable impact on resort access roads and lift operations.
A handful of resorts were forced to close and the vast majority significantly reduced operations, like in France where the entire Three Valleys links were closed due to the elevated avalanche risk.
The good news is that on Monday the skies were clearing up in France, Switzerland and Italy where wonderful blue skies could be found with increased lifts opened. Powder skiing could be located in Austria were many resorts received further snowfall on Monday, although the visibility was limited.
Up to 25cm of fresh snow fell across Colorado in America, which put big smiles on the faces of locals. It has been a relatively dry start to 2012 but this snowfall means conditions are now a lot better.
Decent amounts of fresh snow fell in Canada too, with places like Banff getting around 20cm. Heavy snow is expected at Whistler on Tuesday.
