The speed of the rolling-stock on Georgian railways will increase from today on. For the first time in the history of Georgia, the passenger train will move 120 km/h and the Tbilisi-Poti section of the railway will be passed in 4 hours and 45 minutes; while the fast train will arrive from Tbilisi to Batumi in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
The length of the travel time from Tbilisi to Batumi by train will take only 3 hours after the project of Fast Railway is accomplished. The project is due to be over in 2013.
