Anti-capitalist protesters in London have rejected a High Court ruling which ordered the eviction of their camp outside St. Paul's Cathdedral.
Defiantly decrying enormous bonuses for city workers, the Occupy London protesters believe the reasons given by the London Corporation for their removal are unfair.
Their lawyer John Cooper explained the grounds for an appeal. " Whether the actions taken by the corporation are proportionate or are over the top as far as what's happening outside St Paul's itself. So effectively putting it in non legal terms, to decide whether the corporation - and which are not apparently supported by the cathedral - have gone over the top."
The London authorities cited that for reasons of safety, hygiene and obstruction for worshippers to the cathedral, the camp must be removed.
They added peaceful protest would be allowed but not a permanent camp site which must be dismantled by the end of the month.
