Famous Russian writer and the opponent of the Russian government, Boris Akunin has responded to the comments of the Russian Prime Minister made yesterday. Putin said at the meeting with the media representatives Wednesday that the criticism of the writer towards the Russian government was quite intelligible due to his Georgian origin.
`As for my Georgian ethnicity, yes - my father was Georgian, so what? I have been living in Moscow since I was born and I am the citizen of Russia. If it means something for Putin, this is characteristic for Putin as a person and politician and this will not annoy me,` said the writer in a letter published on his website.
Akunin says he is prepared to meet Putin if he agrees to listen to the sharp truth he is going to tell him, however, he refuses to take part in Putin`s pre-election campaign as the statist.
