Spanish media is reporting that a cime boss detained in the vicinities of Athens, Greece, is a Georgian criminal wanted by Spanish police and Interpol, Lasha Shushanashvili.
The arrest took place on Saturday at the luxury hotel Asteras of the coastal town of Vouliagmeni, outside Athens, where they were staying Shushanashvili, 51, and his bodyguard, 36, also was arrested.
Neither resisted arrest, the police source said. In the hotel room, the agents seized a 45-millimeter pistol, ammunition, CDs and several mobile phones, and a fake Russian passport in the name of Ymar Malgasov, the identity under which they passed. Other identities he used was a Russian, as Lasha Rustavski and over Armenia as Mirosal Artenyan.
In fact, according to Greek media, Georgian and had been staying in Greece in several "category hotels" with fake names.
The detainees will br brought to court later today.
