Today on February 22 at 13:00 in the office of National Democratic Institute (NDI) the memorandum will be signed between opposition and Georgian Public Broadcaster.
The signatory parties are declaring that the II Channel of the GPB will provide a live translation of the Parliamentary plenary sittings and an important Committee reviews, as well the time in the air for opposition without any censorship.
The parties will be given one-hour ("The free tribune"), which will be on air at 22:00-23:00.
GBP gives to the political parties freedom to deliberate which political parties will participate in the live discussions. The schedule for the political parties in the GBP will be prepared by NDI. Only those political parties will have the opportunity to the discussions in live at GPB which will sign the memorandum. Despite of this the II Channel welcomes as well those parties which are against the format of the memorandum. The memorandum is open for the signatures till July 1 of 2010, and it will be in force till 2012 parliamentary elections.
