Heavy snowfall continues hitting regions of Georgia. Traffic movement limitations are imposed at Chakvi-Makhinjauri, Adjara region, Bakurtsike section of the road in Khakheti region and Rikoti Pass (connecting east and west Georgia).
Transportation for heavy vehicles is prohibited but is allowed for cars only by using anti-sliding wheel chains. Traffic of trailers and buses with more than 30 seats is banned.
Movement of all kinds of transport is banned to the direction of Mleta due to avalanche. Traffic is banned for all kinds of vehicles in Pasanauri because of possible avalanches.
Heavy vehicles are mobilized and representatives of Roads Department are working in emergency regime in cleaning of the roads.
Georgian weather forecasters prognosticate that heavy snowfall will continue in Georgia. Frost is expected at night. The weather conditions will start turning to the better as of February 3.
