Seven Georgian sailors were captured in Ukraine`s port of Odessa for about 24 days by the Turkish owners of the Panama-flagged ship Philipa C.
Georgian sailors were released from captivity after the Georgian government became involved into the case. Georgian embassy in Ukraine and Minister of Economics of Georgia conducted negotiations. Sailors will be back to Georgia in several days.
Reportedly, he ship departed from Istanbul in January, with crew of 21, among them seven Georgians. The ship went out of order, and till that time it was parked in Odessa. Sailors were in unbearable condition.
According to spread information there was large amount of drugs on board the ship and the owner of the ship tried to carry drugs in other country.
