The main topic of the traditional briefing held by the President`s press speaker Manana Manjgaladze was the problems caused by bad weather conditions in Georgia during past two weeks and the work of the government in this direction. Manjgladze said the government did its best to avoid any problems on roads in regions and obstructions on the electricity providing. She said the president ordered to purchase special vehicles that is necessary for cleaning roads during heavy snow.
President has also hailed the decision of the Tbilisi mayor to open asylums for the homeless during the frost and bad weather, where they will be offered free dinner and medical service.
Manjgaladze also summed up the meeting of the president with the ruling majority, where Saakashvili focused on his visit to the United States, meeting with the U.S. president Barack Obama and the agreement on enhancing economic cooperation by launching negotiations on free trade relations.
President spoke about the energy projects, which include construction of 15 new hydro-electric power stations, agriculture programs and the hospital sector development projects.
Manana Manjgaladze also said the president would deliver annual to parliament by the end of February, though she added the exact date of the President`s visit was not set yet and the government is holding consultations with the lawmakers in this regard.
