Bidzina Ivanishvili will name his political party the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia. Billionaire, who recently voiced his political ambitions, introduced the initiative group of the party to media today.
He says he will lead the list of the candidates for the parliamentary elections and his wife will join politics only in case he is refused the citizenship of Georgia of which he was deprived under the Georgian legislation a few months ago.
Other political figures of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia were also attending the presentation. Most of them are well-known for the society fpr their political activities in various political groups.
The chairperson of Ivanishvili`s charitable fund Irakli Gharibashvili and his lawyer Archil Kbilashvili were among them. The member of the legal group of the Georgian Dream Zakaria Kutsnashvili, press speaker of the movement, sister of Irakli Alasania`s wife, Maia Panjikidze and the member of the council of advisors of Ivanishvili, Irakli Sesiashvili.
Nodar Khaduri, former deputy of another opposition politician Zurab Noghaideli and afterwards the member of Nino Burjanadze`s party, is also among the initiative group. Other members are - Gia Volski, Goga Khaindrava`s ally; some politicians of the Shevardnadze`s government - Tedo Japharidze, foreign affairs chief of the Georgian Dream and Ivane Kighuradze, who chaired the Central Election Commission during 1995 presidential elections and afterwards - the member of the Georgian Academy public movement.
Ivanishvili presented 18 members of the nitiative group today. Three members - Kakha Kaladze, Nugzar Davitashvili and the former ally of late Georgian tycoon Badri Patarkatsishvili, Leri Khabelov were not attending the presentation as they were abroad. Gogla Zhvania of Patarkatsishvili`s team is also a member of the Georgian dream.
Human rights defenders, Manana Kobakhidze, Tengiz Avdaliani and former journalist of newspaper Resonance - Irakli Sesiashvili are also in Ivanishvili`s team.
