Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey İdris Naim Şahin met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Vano Merabishvili within a two-day working visit to Georgia. The two ministers signed a cooperation memorandum, which aims at carrying out joint measures against organized crime, trafficking and drug crimes. The sides also agreed on exchange of information in the law enforcement system.
The delegation headed by Minister İdris Naim Şahin also consists of deputy minister and heads of the gendarmerie, security service and other structures of the ministry.
Within the two-day visit, Turkish law enforcers will get familiarized with the reforms in the law enforcement system of Georgia, visit new police offices constructed with the principle of transparency and the police academy.
At the moment, the Turkish Minister is holding meeting with Georgian Minister of Justice.
