Eleven years have passed since the murder of Rustavi2 journalist, Giorgi Sanaia. The anchor of the most popular political talk show the Night Courier was found killed with a pistol gun in his apartment on July 26, 2001. Family members, friends and colleagues laid wreaths on the grave of the late journalist on his 37th birthday today. Sanaia`s brother, Vakhtang Sanaia says the murder has not been investigated asserting his brother became a victim of a politically motivated crime.
`Giorgi will become 37 years old today and I am sure he will be on a quite different stage of his career today unless this tragedy had occurred. After so many years I will reiterate that the murder has not been opened, it was a political murder and I can assure the society that our family has not suffered from any other pain and thought since Giorgi`s murder. I am sure this crime will be investigated,` Vakhtang Sanaia said.
