Vice Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze has met with Stefan Fule, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy during his visit to Brussels. The sides discussed the topical issues of the Georgia-EU relations, including the details of the agreements on free trade relations and associate membership with EU. Baramidze also focused on the prospects of developing cooperation within the Eastern Partnership program.
Baramidze emphasized the role or the European Union in the regulation of Georgia-Russia relations; in his turn, the EU Commissioner hailed the reforms conducted by Georgian government in recent years.
The meeting ended by signing an agreement on the support to the criminal legislation reform in Georgia, which implies allocation of 18 million EURO to the country.
