The US supports Georgia's integration into the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). John Bass, US Ambassador to Georgia made this statement on March 6.
Bass commented on the speech of NATO Chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen who claimed during the press conference in NATO headquarters that despite the wish of third countries, the alliance would keep on an open-door policy.
Rasmussen also reiterated that the decision made during the 2008 Bucharest summit regarding Georgia's potential membership of the military block remained in power.
