The US Senate approved the Richard Norland as Ambassador to Georgia on March 29.
Current U.S. ambassador John Bass's term expires in autumn and Richard Norland will replace him.
Norland served 32 years in diplomatic sphere. In 2007 -2010 Norland was U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan. He served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan (2005-2007).
