A new hospital was opened in Gurjaani town of Kakheti region this afternoon.
GPI Holding invested 7 million GEL in construction of the 70-place medical institution where 170 doctors are employed. The hospital has tomography, maternity, diagnostics and other departments.
The doctors will be trained on a regular basis at partner clinics abroad. The hospital is provided with modern medical equipment. It will serve locals of nearby villages as well. The first baby, a boy, was born at this hospital earlier today.
Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili attended the opening ceremony. He then addressed the locals and talked about development of hospital sector and accessibility to medical services. He also introduced locals with projects planned to be carried out in the region.
