Grigol Vashadze, Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs commented on the latest interview of the outgoing Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, who expressed his sympathy towards Georgian people, but said the Kremlin would never restore relations with the government of Georgia under rule of President Mikheil Saakashvili.
Vashadze said Medvedev failed to pass the casting of the president and now was trying to pass another casting for the prime minister. However, it was less possible that this time the attempt would be successful.
Vashadze said Russia had already shown its love and sympathy towards Georgian people - in the result of which 20% of the Georgian territory is occupied and over half a million people are refugees in their homeland.
`Since 1989, we have experienced love of the Soviet Union and then Russia towards Georgian people and the result of this love is the 20% of the occupied territory of Georgia and over half a million IDPs,` Vashadze said.
