Manana Manjgaladze, Georgian President's Press Speaker summed up the participation of Georgian delegation in the NATO Chicago summit, agreement between Georgian and Azerbaijan`s presidents about the Davit Gareji Monastery and the events planned for the Independence Day on May 26 at the traditional press briefing today.
Manjgaladze defined that major events on the Day of Independence of Georgia will be held in the second largest city of the country - Kutaisi, where the military parade will be held; in addition, the lawmakers will attend the first session at the new parliament, which moved from Tbilisi to Kutaisi.
As for Tbilisi, on May 26, the capital city of the country will host an industry exhibition Made in Georgia, where Georgian companies will exhibit their products; the industry exhibition will be concluded with a grand concert on Marjanishvili Square.
Press speaker also focused on the controversy around the Davit Gareji Monastery Complex, which is located on Georgia-Azerbaijan`s border and where the pilgrims and religious figures had faced problems a few days before. She said the two presidents agreed at the meeting in Chicago, that no travel obstructions would be caused for any person until the border demarcation problems are solved.
Manjgaladze hopes the commission working on the issue will conduct negotiations in a peaceful and friendly environment and reach desirable result. Manana Manjgaladze said the president`s visit to the United States continued after the Summit.
