US secretary of State Hillary Clinton will represent the United States at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vladivostok on 1-8 September, 2012, US president's Adviser Ben Rhodes said.
He said that Barack Obama was planning to attend the summit, but then he canceled the visit due to the pre-election period.
Rhodes said that due to the meeting of the Democratic Party in autumn and the November presidential election in the US Mr. Obama`s schedule is packed to capacity.
