The Russian occupants started destroying the burial places in Sokhumi, Georgia's invaded territory of Abkhazia. The cemetery located behind the former Republican Hospital in Sokhumi is under the threat.
After 19 years IDP Natela Dumbadze arrived in Sokhumi to find the grave of her son. She says that all the graves of Georgians are completely destroyed.
The occupants are constructing the apartment buildings near the cemetery and using the cemetery area.
The Georgian side has assessed the occupants act about destroying of burial places as vandalism. Guram Chakhvadze, MP representing Georgian National-Democratic Party calls on the Georgian government to make immediate response on the fact and make the international Organizations involved into the case.
