The body of Mamuka Kakhishvili, 19, who was killed by the Russian police in Samara, Russia, on November 10, 2011, will be brought to Georgia today. The youth will be buried in Khashuri town.
The expertise bureau of Russia's Saratov city confirmed on May 22 that Kakhishvili had died from suffocation. The cause of the death was determined to be a mechanical asphyxia. The expertise also showed that the youth was not under influence of drugs when killed.
The family members demand objective and unbiased investigation into the case, and punishment of guilty ones. They claim that the murder took place on ethnic grounds.
